Covenant Groups in January

Philip Beck

To issue in the new year, January covenant groups talked about “Liberating Love.”  “Love,” of course, is not always the easiest thing to define.  It takes many forms, speaks numerous languages, appears in an infinite number of ways.  But we weren’t just talking about love as a feeling.  We were examining it as an action, as the process of setting it free, letting it out of our hearts and into the world, expressing it and ourselves through it, but also reaching out to others and “liberating” them through our love.

What form is love currently taking in your life? And how are you expressing it, making use of it, helping others with it?  How are you “transforming the world” with the love that you’ve set free? If questions like these intrigue you, you might want to consider joining a covenant group.  The covenant group program offers its members the opportunity to share their views and deepen their understanding of a wide range of issues while creating closer ties with other UUs.
