Providing Joy, Supporting Immigrant Family

By Sally Hartman

A UU Society Sunday morning activity of tying a blanket brought joy to an immigrant family!  They had just moved in to their home the week before, and were delighted to receive a soft, beautiful blanket perfect for sibling cuddling!

This family of five arrived in the United States a few months ago and were fortunate to land a place to live, the Immigrant Welcome House.  There, they had a warm place to stay and support in finding jobs, acclimation to the community, and permanent housing. The children, ages 10, 8, and 6 were enrolled in school and are thriving.  Though they are still sitting on the floor to eat breakfast and dinner, they are happy and grateful to be here.

Thank you, UU Society, for creating the heart-warming blanket of love!
