Covenant Groups in July
In July, groups gathered to discuss the idea that is central to Unitarian Universalism — Covenant. We are a covenantal religion rather than a creedal religion. In other words, we are bound by the way we promise to treat each other, rather than by common beliefs and creeds. Covenant is the means by which we’re held together in “beloved community.”
How does this covenantal relationship work in the congregation? In what practices do you see it most? What do others do to create “beloved community” for you, and what do you do to create it for others?
If questions like these intrigue you, you might want to consider joining a covenant group. The covenant group program offers its members the opportunity to share their views and deepen their understanding of a wide range of issues while creating closer ties with other UUs. If you’re interested, please contact Nic Kaplan ([email protected]) for more information.
Groups will not meet in August, but may gather informally for a picnic or other social event.
