Secular Humanist September Update

Starting with the September 16, 2025, Secular Humanist meeting, we will be back to meeting on the third Tuesday of each month from September through May, For the first program, Jeanette Carter has arranged for Orlando Redekopp to tell us about a local Sanctuary Church.

Orlando Redekopp, a retired minister who has lived in Chicago many years, is now living in Iowa City and is a member of the First Mennonite Church of Iowa City. He will share information about the Sanctuary Church designation of First Mennonite—what it means and how the congregation is involved in helping those individuals who are having to deal with the threat of deportation and other issues. He may also speak about other groups engaged in this work locally. Please joins us at 7:00 pm in person at UUS or by Zoom for this informative and timely presentation.
