Covenant Groups in August
In August, groups didn’t meet for discussion sessions but had the option of gathering informally for a picnic or other social event. Many members attended the All-Covenant Groups Potluck on Saturday Aug.16, the first time it’s been held since the pandemic. It was scheduled to take place at Wetherby Park from 5-7:30 p.m. but was moved to the Robert A. Lee Community Recreation Center at the last minute due to a heat advisory on that day. Many thanks to Nic Kaplan and Erica Reschly for organizing it and changing its location so efficiently.
Groups will reconvene in September to begin a new year of discussing topics from Soul Matters, a UU Wide Curriculum series drawing on themes of spirituality and socially responsible living. If subjects like these intrigue you, you might want to consider joining a covenant group. The covenant group program offers its members the opportunity to share their views and deepen their understanding of a wide range of issues while creating closer ties with other UUs.
