140 Free Meals Served in September

The UUS team served 125 diners and handed out 15 to-go meals on Friday, September 12. Barb Haring, Kezia Walker Cecil and Rhonda Rowden mixed up four big roasting pans of hamburger pot pie casserole and Frank Wildensee made a pan of lentil and veggie shepard’s pie as a vegan option. Russ Lenth and Juli Statton made the fruit salad and Chris Smith joined us to load up some platters with donated cookies and cake. Terri O’Berry, Janet McKee, Chris Smith, and Carolyn Johnson served. All of the food was gone at the end of the lunch so it must have been good!
Gare Calhoun, Cynthia Crawford, Carrie Z. Norton, and Gary Lawrenson washed all the dishes and Gay Mikelson prepared the silverware. Next month on October 10 the team will serve fish portions with some kind of veggie side dish along with the usual fruit salad.
