Free Lunch Team Receives 5th Sunday Support in March

On March 14 the UUS team gathered to make turkey and rice soup, vegetable soup, toasted garlic bread, and a cranberry-walnut salad for lunch. Chopping veggies and whipping up the soups were Juli Statton, Theresa Ullerich, and Kezia Walker-Cecil under the leadership of Frank Wildensee. Carolyn Johnson, Juli Statton, and David Quegg made salads. Gay Mikelson wrapped the silverware and Joy Thompson served beverages. Carolyn Johnson, Sharon Beckman, and Gene McCracken worked the serving line and Caryl Lyons, John Elson, Gare Calhoun, and Gary Lawrenson washed the dishes. This month’s main dish was sponsored by Jeanette Carter- many thanks to Jeanette for that generous gift.

And speaking of generosity, the fifth Sunday collection was taken on March 2 for the free lunch account and the congregation donated $591 to be used to buy food for the UUS Free Lunch day of service. The team is very grateful for the generosity of the congregation to support this important service project.

The next Free Lunch day of service will be Friday, April 11 and Frank and Vicki will be planning something yummy. If you would like to find out how to help the group and/or receive the Sign Up Genius to volunteer, send an email to [email protected]. Thank you for your support!
