Free Lunch Partners Serves 101 Diners in July

In July, the UUS Free Lunch team prepared casseroles of chicken, broccoli, and rice to serve along with fruit salad, and dessert. 101 diners attended the lunch.
Bonnie and Mark Penno, John and Virginia Stamler, and Angie Burr assembled the casseroles. Angie, Juli Statton, and Tina McCoy cut up the fruit for the salad using fruit donated by the Pennos, David Quegg, Pete Brokaw, and Barb Haring. Gay Mikelson wrapped all the silverware. Terri O’Berry, Janet McKee, Sharon Beckman, and Mimi Sherburne served and Tina McCoy poured drinks. The clean up crew was Caryl Lyons, Emmaline Light, Cynthia Crawford, and Frank Wildensee.
The UUS Peace Campers, led by Nic Kaplan, prepared snack bags and baked pans of bars to serve for dessert.
On Friday, August 8, the UUS team will be serving free lunch again with a menu TBA but sure to include a fruit salad and dessert along with a hot main dish.
