Diwali Celebration at UUS

Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, is a celebration in honor of Lakshmi, the goddess of good fortune and wealth. Celebrants were their finest clothes; decorate their homes with diyas (oil lamps) and rangoli (colored powdered quartz decorations); perform ceremonies for Lakshmi; light fireworks; and gather for family feasts where sweets and gifts are shared.
UUS is excited to be hosting Diwali on Oct. 18 led by our friend and community member Dr. Shuvendu Das and other members of the Indian community. Dr. Das and friends will lead the program for all who wish to attend. RSVP is required; you can sign up here: forms.gle/5G1SVyuqRf2iTGFe9
