UUS Seeks Facilities Coordinator

The Unitarian Universalist Society (UUS) seeks a part-time (5-10 hours per week) Facilities Coordinator. The Facilities Coordinator provides general caretaking services for UUS and its facilities, including custodial tasks (shared with a weekly custodian), light and preventative maintenance to the facilities, and setup and cleanup assistance for congregational and rental events. The Facilities Coordinator is expected to affirm the principles, values, and policies of UUS.

Work Schedule & Pay Rate

Average 5 hours per week (sometimes more depending on the calendar of events). Evening and weekend availability required for scheduled events and programming, including preparation for Sunday morning services. The remainder of the time will be flexible and used as needed to complete tasks in a timely and efficient way. Pay Rate: $20 per hour.

Essential Functions

  • In coordination with a weekly custodian, ensure clean and well-stocked facilities. Perform custodial duties ahead of Sunday morning services and for evening or weekend events as requested, including removing refuse and recycling; restocking restrooms, cleaning and tidying the building, and ensuring outside entries and walkways are safe and unobstructed.
  • Provide setup and cleanup services for congregational and rental events as scheduled.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and general repairs as needed (changing filters, replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks and clogs, patching walls, etc.). Perform deep cleaning and maintenance reviews according to a monthly and annual schedule. Identify and address safety concerns.
  • In coordination with the Congregational Administrator and custodian, maintain an adequate inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment. Keep equipment in good working order and stored in an orderly fashion. Maintain records, schedules, and instructions for equipment and custodial procedures.
  • In coordination with the Congregational Administrator and Building and Grounds Teams, liaise with facilities vendors and congregational volunteers for ongoing maintenance, and for needed repairs or other facilities projects beyond the scope of the Facilities Coordinator’s abilities. Assist with grounds care and special building tasks as requested.
