UUS Seeks Communications and Outreach Coordinator
05/01/2023
As detailed in the email message from Rev. Diana and Rochelle Honey-Arcement last week, UUS is undergoing some updates to our staffing structure. One change is that we will be combining our existing Communications Coordinator and Administrative Assistant positions as we hire a new Communications and Outreach Coordinator. Our previous Communications Coordinator, Barb Danielson, has stepped down to focus on her other jobs. Our Administrative Assistant, Niklaus Jakob, will also be stepping down as this new position is hired. Nik has served in this role since 2017, and we are grateful for all his hard work over the years, and for his assistance and support during this transition.
The new Communications and Outreach Coordinator will support the mission and goals of UUS by responsibly promoting the Society and coordinating the overall communications strategy across a variety of media platforms to expand and engage UUS’s membership and the wider community, under the general supervision of the Congregational Administrator and with the help of volunteers. This will include social media management, regular congregational communications, basic website administration, and more.
The goal of UUS communications is to 1) engage and inform our existing congregation, 2) effectively attract visitors to attend UUS Sunday services, programs, and events, and 3) increase awareness of UUS and its values in the area.
Average of 10 hours per week, varying from 5 hours per week to 15 hours per week depending on the communication needs each week. Flexible work hours, with remote, in-office, or hybrid work setting options. Pay rate for this position will be $17 to $20 an hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
