7 Principles, 6 Sources: UU Identity

Unitarian Universalism is described as a Living Tradition; that is, it is always changing and evolving. In our current day, we have identified principles that we hold in common and sources from which we draw wisdom, inspiration, and guidance. Together, they form a covenant, a sacred agreement for how we will be with each other and how we will be in the world. They provide the cellular membrane of who we are as a people, a boundary that it is at once permeable and protective.
