CUUPs Mabon Ritual and Potluck (Stone Soup & Pebble Pie)
September 23 @ 5:15 pm - 8:00 pm
As day and night sit as equals, the Owl Moon Covenant of UU Pagans (CUUPS) will honor the ever-shifting balance of sacrifice and abundance in our lives. We’ll begin with abundance—a potluck feast amongst beloved community! Please bring a dish to share along with a list of the ingredients in it. To conserve resources, we ask that you bring your own dinner service. We will gather at 5:15, and dinner will begin at 5:30 pm.
Following dinner, we’ll enter sacred space to explore this place of balance in our own lives. What are we harvesting this year ,and how do we celebrate those things? What sacrifices had to be made to manifest this abundance, and how can we honor them? And what must we now cut away to preserve (or create) the balance that will support next year’s growth? What will we carry forward to plant again in the spring? The cycle of growth, harvest, and renewal marches on.
The ritual will begin at 6:30 pm. This ritual is most suitable for adults and mature youth; however, most children should be able to participate if they so desire. Weather permitting, we will be outside for both parts of the celebration! Contact Marsha Cheyney (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions about this event.
