Religious Education Class Guidelines
Sunday religious education (RE) classes are open to all families, whether or not you are members of UUS. We ask parent(s)/guardian(s) to complete a registration for each child attending an RE class to help us better communicate with our families, and to help us be aware of any special needs or concerns you may have. Members can register online using Realm. You can also find registration forms in each of the classroom.
We do not charge a fee for RE classes. However, your donations and pledges support the overall UUS budget, which provides the Children and Youth RE Program with classroom supplies, materials, and curricula.
If this is your first time attending an RE class, please arrive 10-15 minutes early so we can help you find the classroom and introduce you to the teachers and/or childcare providers. We have a new check-in computer located on the counter in the RE Commons area, and as a way to help us create a safer environment and smoother transition between worship and RE, we are asking all families to head there first, before worship begins, to sign their kids in and to see what each group’s activity for the day is, especially for the 1st-4th graders.
RE classes dismiss 10 minutes after the end of worship, at 11:10. Children in 3rd grade and up will be dismissed to meet their families in the Fellowship Hall, and children in 2nd grade and under can picked up by their families in the RE Commons, or they will be escorted by RE staff or a volunteer to the Fellowship Hall to find their families.
For additional questions or to schedule an appointment, please contact the Director of Lifespan Religious Education at firstname.lastname@example.org or (319) 337-3443.
