The Free Lunch Program of Iowa City operates six days a week, with volunteer teams preparing and serving nutritious meals using their own food or the food from local restaurants, grocery stores, and food distributors via Table to Table Food Rescue Organization, and from items in the Free Lunch pantry obtained through the HACAP Food Reservoir.

Shelter House is our October Community Partner

Shelter House provides safe shelter and helps people improve the quality of their lives as they move beyond homelessness. In addition to providing emergency housing, the organization helps locate permanent housing and provides employment and mental health services.

Founded in 1973 in Iowa City by a group of women driven by feminist ideals, the clinic continues to serve men and women of all ages. Clinic staff and volunteers promote respectful, client-centered, and participatory health care through informed decision making, client rights, advocacy, and support of pregnancy choices.
