  • The Free Lunch Program is our November Community Partner

    The Free Lunch Program operates six days a week, with volunteer teams preparing and serving nutritious meals to anyone who is hungry. The guiding principle of unconditional respect and hospitality has been as integral to the program as the hot, nourishing meals.

  • The Emma Goldman Clinic is our October Community Partner

    Emma’s continues to be a safe and caring clinic for individuals with diverse gender and sexual expression to receive client-centered medical care. Clinic staff and volunteers offer total support of pregnancy choices. Flu shots, STI and UTI screening, and options counseling are also available during walk-in hours.   • Shelter House is our September Community Partner

    Shelter House provides temporary housing for those who need it, and Cross Park Place, which opened in 2019, has filled its 24 apartments for chronically homeless singles who sign leases. Case managers offer  employment support, resume writing, job training and interview skills, etc. Educational and mental health help are among other offerings.

    The Free Medical Clinic provides quality, comprehensive medical care for the uninsured and underinsured. All service offerings in August will be donated to support their efforts. Click to learn more

  • Inside Out Reentry Logo

    Inside Out Reentry is our July Community Partner

    Inside Out Reentry Community is based in Iowa City and serves people returning to Johnson County after incarceration. They help ease the transition back into the community by providing assistance with employment, housing, life-skill training, social and support groups, and other resources.

    CommUnity is our June Community Partner

    CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank provides immediate and non-judgmental support for individuals facing emotional, food, or financial crisis.

  • Table to Table Logo

    Table to Table is our May Community Partner

    Table to Table keeps wholesome, edible food from going to waste by collecting it from donors and distributing to those in need through agencies that serve the hungry, homeless and at-risk populations.

  • Domestic Violence Intervention Program Logo

    DVIP is our April Community Partner

    The Domestic Violence Intervention Program provides comprehensive support and advocacy to victims and survivors, focusing on immediate and long-term safety, empowerment, dignity and hope. Direct services include crisis phone support and safe shelter for women and children.

    Center for Worker Justice is our March Community Partner

    The Center for Worker Justice's priority issues include defending workers’ rights to proper payment and safe work, improving housing options for low-income residents, confronting discrimination and ensuring equal access to community services, and providing assistance to those affected by immigration policies.

  • United Action for Youth is our February Community Partner

    United Action for Youth (UAY) is a Johnson County community organization whose mission is to nurture the potential of all youth to create, grow, and lead. Services include recording and art studios, street outreach, counseling and programs for pregnant and parent teens, health services and a transitional living program.

    Abbe Mental Health Center is our January Community Partner

    The Abbe Center for Community Mental Health coordinates licensed professionals who work as a team to provide diagnostic and treatment services. Team members include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, and peer support specialists. 

  • The Free Dental Clinic is our November Community Partner

    The Dick Parrott Free Dental Clinic’s dentists, hygienists, and students volunteer to provide dental services to adults and children in our community without insurance. The Free Dental Clinic is a program coordinated by the Free Medical Clinic of Iowa City.

  • Johnson County Neighborhood Centers is our June Community Partner

    JCNC offers long-term commitment to families in the several neighborhoods they serve. They offer a consistent and stable presence and provide a balanced mixture of programs (e.g., preschool and after-school) and activities that build community and teach new skills.
