Membership
in the Unitarian Universalist Society of Iowa City may
be achieved when one feels ready
to become a member, i.e., finds oneself in sympathy with the seven
principles and purposes which UUA member congregations covenant
to affirm and promote,
and is prepared to make an annual contribution of record to the operating
budget. There are no rites of baptism or public affirmation of faith,
but there is a membership book to be signed. Members over 16 years
of age have voting privileges. The Membership
Associates and minister
throughout the year
conduct orientation seminars for "New UUs". We invite you
to visit with someone from the Membership Committee, and with the
minister about your possible interest in becoming a member; they
can answer
your
questions and will have additional information to help you in making
up your mind. Click
