Free Lunch Program

UUS supports the Greater Iowa City Free Lunch Program. The objective and mission are to provide hot meals for approximately 120 guests per meal. Volunteers prepare and serve the lunch and clean up afterwards. Meets weekly 2nd Friday at 1105 S. Gilbert Ct, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Contact: Diana Miller, dkmilleriowa @gmail.com

Green Sanctuary Committee

This committee builds awareness of environmental issues among congregants, and motivates all to integrate good sustainable living practices. It works with other churches and/or groups on issues beyond the scope of our church. Meets weekly on the 2nd Tuesday at 5:30 pm in the Conference Room. Immigration Issues Study & Action Group (Circle of Friends)

Partner Church Committee

This committee helps build bridges and supports our Unitarian partners in the village of Janosfalva, Transylvania, Romania. Money is raised to help the church and village and occasional trips are organized. Varying dates & locations. Contact: Mary Kathryn Wallace 541-9501 mkatawall @yahoo.com

Racial Justice Study/Action Circle

The Study/Action Circle aims to responsibly answer the call from communities of color to stand and act in solidarity for racial justice. The group provides critical reflection and discussion and helps develop, implement, and evaluate actions that emerge out of our discussions. Social Justice Coordinating Committee
