Welcome to the Unitarian Universalist Society of Iowa City

UUSIC Free Lunch

Good food, good friends, good fun!

On the second Friday of each month, UUSIC Free Lunch volunteers prepare and serve about 120 nourishing hot meals to diners at the Free Lunch program in the Wesley Center. We take great pride in preparing tasty, healthy menus. Our meals typically include a hot main dish, cooked vegetables, a tossed green salad, a fresh fruit salad, and a variety of wonderful desserts, often accompanied by ice cream.

Bonnie Penno coordinates planning, and Lee and Sue Eberly set up the kitchen of the Wesley Center before each of our Friday meals. If you would like to participate (and we do have a good time!), whether by donating food or by assisting with serving a meal or cleaning up afterwards, please contact Bonnie by email or phone at 319-354-6952.
