Sharing the journey of mind and spirit

Worthley Evenings

The game is afoot on April 6th!

On Tuesday, April 6th, we will gather at 5:30 PM in Channing Hall, where Dr. Richard Caplan will conclude the Worthley Evening season with a salute to the City of Literature with a program on “Sherlock Holmes: His Development and His Era."

Arthur Conan Doyle’s character is one of the most enduring literary figures of the late 19th century, and Dr. Caplan, founder of the Young Stamfords, will lead the investigation of Holmes and his time.

Dr. Caplan is professor emeritus of the College of Medicine. Besides practicing dermatology, he founded the Medical Humanities Program and started the Carol A. Bowman Creative Writing contest for medical students.

We serve sherry at 5:30 PM, and dinner at 6:15 PM; reservations are required. The program follows at 7 pm. We hope you will join us!

Please RSVP!
If you plan to attend, please let us know the Monday before the meeting, so that we can inform our caterer. You can RSVP by calling 337-3443 (the UUSIC office). The cost is $12 a person (no child care is available).
