Accessibility
at UUSIC
We work hard to make our century-old building both accessible and
welcoming!!
-
Accessible
parking:
On Sundays, in the
city parking lot
on the east side
of our UUSIC
building, you will find reserved, accessible
parking places near our accessible entrance.
-
Free
parking is also available on Sunday in the
parking ramp across the street from us; this
ramp is fully accessible.
-
Accessible
entrances
-
Our accessible
entrance is on the east side of our building,
next to the city parking lot.
-
Since we do not yet have automatic
doors, you may wish to have assistance to enter the building, and to
reach and board the elevator. If so, please
let us know.
-
If you will be
attending a
Sunday service or
another weekend
event, and
would like to have
assistance, please
contact us by
email,
or phone our
office
(319-337-3443)
before 3 PM of the Friday
before the
service so that we will be expecting
you.
-
If you will be
attending an
event during the
week and would
like to have
assistance, please
contact us at
least a day before
the event by
email,
or phone our

Other questions
Two other questions
that newcomers often have are:
What should I wear to the worship service? It’s up to you. You will not be given the cold shoulder if you
do not dress in your “Sunday best”. Some members
of our congregation are comfortable coming to services in casual
attire and
others prefer to dress up a little.
Are there people in the congregation who believe what I believe? If you would like to learn more about the beliefs of those in our
congregation, a good place to start is
About Us. To learn more about Unitarian Universalism in general, visit
the web site of the
Unitarian Universalist Association.
If
you have more questions about our worship services,
feel free to ask the ushers as you enter or leave
the sanctuary, or visit the membership table in
Channing Hall (downstairs from the sanctuary) during
Coffee Hour. We also invite you to
email your questions
to us. |
