Our UU hymn
"Gather the Spirit" reminds us
that we can do great things
when we combine our hearts and
hands, our hopes and dreams,
and our money and energy. Our
new settled minister Steven
refers to UUSIC as a house of
memory and hope -- a place in
which we can gather in peace,
thanks, compassion, and
strength to celebrate the many
moments of greatness that have
happened through the years. We
can dream about these moments
in the years to come, and
discover how each of us is
called to help live out the
mission and vision of our
congregation.
Because of
your generous gifts of time,
talent, and money, not only
can be offer many services,
programs, and activities; we
are also able to grow
spiritually as individuals and
make a real difference as we
minister to the needs of Iowa
City, and reach out to the
world.
Please consider giving 5% of
your gross income -- that's
gross, not net. For
example, if your income is
$50,000, then your pledge
would be in the range of
$2,500. We know that you are a
very generous people and do
much to support other causes
that are important to you, so
while 5% is the suggested
amount, we are grateful for
whatever you are able to give.

We are a caring,
inclusive community
celebrating a liberal
tradition that nurtures social
justice, stewardship of the
earth, and our lifelong
journeys of mind and spirit.
We also subscribe to the
principles and purposes of the
Unitarian Universalist
Association.
To support this mission, we open our doors
to ALL people who desire the kind of
spiritual home we
offer. We need
you to increase your pledge for 2012 in
order to support the accomplishment of our
shared mission and goals.
