You may become a member in the Unitarian
Universalist Society of Iowa City when you feel
ready to become a member, that is, when you find
yourself in sympathy with the
seven principles and
purposes which UUA member congregations
covenant to affirm and promote, and are prepared to
make an annual contribution of record to the UUSIC
operating budget. Members older than 16 years of age
have voting privileges. Throughout the year,
Membership Associates and our minister conduct
orientation seminars for "New UUs."
We
have no rites of baptism or public affirmation of
faith; rather, you sign your name in our membership
book.
We
invite you to visit with someone from the Membership
Committee, and with our minister, if you feel you
may be interested in becoming a member. They can
answer your questions, and can also provide
additional information to help you decide if
Unitarian Universalism is for you. Click here to
