Lifespan Religious Education
Our Director

Lois Cole, who directs our UUSIC Lifespan Religious Education Program, grew up in Taiwan, where her parents taught at a theological seminary. She has a graduate degree in education and spent several years teaching in China, then worked as an education consultant in Hong Kong.

Lois came to Iowa to attend the Iowa Writers Workshop, and received her Masters of Fine Arts degree in English in 1999, the year she began her work at UUSIC. To her ministry she brings experiences in religious studies, storytelling, writing, teaching, and cultural diversity.
