Children and Youth
Our growing religious education (RE) program enrolls more than 150 children and youth, and some 40 volunteers who contribute their time and energy
to make RE a dynamic and integral part of the church. Classes for preschool
through 12th grade explore such areas as celebrating self and world, Unitarian
Universalist principles, our Judeo-Christian heritage, neighboring faiths,
sexuality, social justice and the Coming of Age journey. Children and youth
attend the first 15 minutes of Sunday services, providing opportunity to
participate with the congregation in worship and to express their faith,
before going to their classes.
Our RE classes provide a safe, nurturing community
that encourages children and youth to grow in curiosity, expression,
tolerance, confidence, and self-esteem and to develop personal values
and responsibilities as they define their faith identity.
RE Registrations forms are also available at the Children and Youth Committee table in Channing Hall during coffee hour. Please stop by and fill out a form. We must have current RE Registration forms on file for your child to be enrolled in the Religious Education Program.
