Real Estate Analysis
Committee
A UUSIC Real Estate Analysis
Committee has been
created by the
board to explore
to the
possibilities our
congregation would
have in terms of
purchasing land
and/or buildings
as well as selling
our current
property. Committee
members include:
The responsibilities of this
committee include
the investigation
of:
-
Inquires from interested parties
regarding the
purchase or
selling of
society
property
-
The potential for purchasing
properties
owned by other
churches that
are suitable
for the
society's long
range plans
-
Availability, price, and sale
terms of land
and buildings
suitable for
the society's
long range
plans
The committee may not:
-
Make any agreements pertaining
to the
purchase,
sale, or
disposition of
any society
property
-
Enter into any agreements for
fee-based
professional
services,
including
legal
representation,
without the
prior approval
of the board
To ensure a transparent process
Kathy Huedepohl,
publicity chair,
will regularly
provide updates in
the newsletter and
website. As of
this date, the
committee has met
with a local
realtor from
Lepic-Kroeger.
We have identified several
criteria with
which to evaluate
properties
including
location, size and
shape of lot,
existing
buildings,
location of
majority of
congregation
membership,
proximity to major
intersections, and
growth trends in
the community.
As potential buyers, we are under
no financial or
contractual
obligation. At
this time we have
identified
approximately 12
properties we
would like to
learn more about,
with about 4 of
those properties
standing out as
more likely to
meet our criteria.
As
of June 10, we
have scheduled one
Q & A session,
which
unfortunately
suffered from
insufficient
publicizing. We
plan on scheduling
more such sessions
in the fall. In
the meantime,
please keep in
mind that neither
the Real Estate
Analysis Committee
nor the board
alone have the
power to purchase
or sell property
without bringing
it to a
congregational
vote.
Watch this space
for regular
updates.
